The first European Postgraduate Fluid Dynamics
Conference was held in the Watson Building at the University of Birmingham
between Wednesday 8th August and Friday 10th August, 2007.
The concept of EPFDC is to be a student led and
delivered conference, in which postgraduate researchers in fluid
dynamics can meet and present their research in a friendly student
orientated environment. Every participant is encouraged to give a short
talk (20min) about their work or to present a poster, although these
are
optional.
Invited Speakers
As part of the conference there will be three keynote speakers, each
eminent researchers, who will cover a wide range of fluid dynamics. The
keynote speakers will be
- Prof. C.J. Chapman (Keele, UK) High
Speed Flows
- Prof. Dr M. Griebel (Bonn, Germany) Numerical
Methods
- Dr M. Heil (Manchester, UK) Biofluids
Financial Support
The conference is funded by the University Birmingham through the
School of Mathematics and the Graduate School and the LMS. The
organisers are grateful for the generous financial
support.
